Sir, — From a remark made ct the last sitting of the Education Board, it appears that there is a great falling off in the attendance at the High Schcoi. Now, this is from no fault of the present excellent teacher in charge of the establishment, but from the stylo of teaching adopted in the primary schools, where the children are only crammed to answer a series of fancy questions, which from an educational point of view are worse than useless. The special training class for the young, as proposed to be established in the lligh School, will no doubt alter this defect, and, it is to be hoped, will be the means ot sending a few well grounded children forth into the world. — I am, &c., .
