Rona Minarapa, £12 13s, costs £3 11s., took some time, having a number of native witnesses on both sides. The action arose through a tangi which was held over a chief named Edwin, who died some twelve months ago. The defendant Ronti sent Eriwata to purchase the wioos and spirits for the feast. Eriwatu being one of the most likely natives to get the liquor on "tick.'' When the tangi was finished, Rona took over charge of the moveablo property belonging to the deceased. The bonifaco who supplied the wines sued Eriwata for the amount and obtained judgment. Eriwntu now huos Rom for the amount recovered by the bonifaco and costs. Defendaut being tho muster of the ceremonies at the langi, sent plaintiff for tho wines. Tho witnesses for the plaintiff testified to Rona sending him for tho liquor. Adjourned.—Snell v.
