At the mart on Saturday, fowls made from Is Id to Is 6d ; local potatoes made from 3s 3d to ss; damaged onions, M; bacon, 4Jd ; cheese, 21 to id ; tea, 15s to 17d ; sugar, 3M. A lot of sundries cold at fair rates. Haymarket Yards. — Some rough Native pigs made 4s Cd to 9s Cd on Saturday ; 2 hacks, £6 each. Frnit. — At the sale on Tuesday there w.is a good demand for sound fruit, but Dearly all the Hobart was touched and sold from 4s 6 1 to 12s ; 'Frisco apples, Hs Gd to 16*; Sydney oranges, Us Cd to I3s. Cattle — At the Waiwakaiho, on Thursday, the yards were full np with cattle, and a much better assorted lot than last sale. The bidding on the young stock (calves) was dull, and prices were about equal ti last sile ; but in yearlings to 18-months a still further decline was noticeable ; wh le on big steers the market was much firmer, and competition was good. Dairy cows were very dull and difficult to quit ; store cows were not to be placed at any pr.ee, but there was keen competition for fit cows. Calves made 19s to 24s ; yearlings, 27s 6i to 35s ; 18-months, £2 6s 'to £2 los ; 3-year-old steers, £4 to £4 12s 6d ; fat cows, £7 ; empty 2-year-old heifere, £3 ss; cows in milk, £4 to £4 17s 6d; springing, £4 16s to £5 10s.
