SUPREME COURT.
[per press association.] Ddnedin, October o.— At the Supreme Court J. Newton was charged with burning a quantity of books and papers, the property of the West Harbour Borough Council, of which he was the Town Clerk. He was found guilty. The Judge said that the prisoner thought he had been wronged by the Corporation, which had discharged him, and had committed a wanton though unpremeditated act. The prisoner was sentenced to three month's imprisonment.
