THE ANNUAL PLOUGHING MATCH will be held on Wednesday, July sth, 1882, at Bell Block. The following Classes will compete :— Double Furrow Ploughs. — Ist prize £5. 2nd prize £2 10c, 3rd prize £1. First Class Single Furrow Ploughs.— Ist prize £6, 2nd prize £3, 3rd prize £1. Second Class Single Furrow Ploughs. —Ist prize £4. 2nd prize £2. 3rd prize £1. Third (Farmers') Class Single Furrow PLOUGHS. — Ist prize £5, 2nd prize £2 10s, 3rd prize £1. Ploughs, horses, ka., to be the bona fide property of the competitor. Boys' Class.— lst prize £3, 2nd prize £2, 3rd prize £1. Entry for Double Furrows, 7s 6d; Ist class Single Furrowd, 9s; 2nd clrks Single Furrows, 6s; Farmers' Class, 7s 6d| Boys' Class, nil. Three Ploughs to start in each Class, or the Committee reserve the right to wlthkold the Prizes. No practice will be allowed on the field where the match is to take place. RULES. 1. All Ploughs to be ready to start at 10 am. 2. No drivers allowed for horse teams, and bullock drivers to be under 16 years of age. 3. Depth of ploughing, five inches. No feather edge allowed. Each competitor for Double Furrow to plough three-quarters of an acre, and for Single Furrow half an acre ; and to plough the seed farrow, or the work will not be considered complete. 4. Each competitor to gather a ridge of ten furrows, and to be the fall depth of the fourth furrow. 5. Time, fire hours. Anyone exceeding that time will be diiqualified. 6. Entrance fees — Doable Farrow, 7s 6d ; Ist Class Single Furrow, 9a ; 2nd Class Single Furrow, 8s ; Farmers' Class, 7s 6d ; Boys, free. 7. All entries to be in writing, and left with Mr. Bennett, School-boose, Bell Block, together with entrance money, not later than 7 p.m. on Saturday, Ist July, or at the Herald Office not later than 4 p.m. on the same day, after which date no entries will be received. 8.
