A peculiar state of affairs has arisen in connection with the North Dunedin Licensing District. At the election three committee-men only were returned, but these three were never gazetted. Five others were, however, gazetted, as if no election had ever taken place. The five held a meeting, and transacted business in due course ; but the three hold that this is null and void, and to-day the three held a meeting. The clerk, howaver, would not hand them over the papers, and they adjourned until Monday.
