[per united press association.] MAIL COAOHEB EXEMPT PROM TOLLS. Wellington, June 12. In the Appeal Court, this morning, judgment was given in the case of Hilary v. Macarra. The action was brought to recover tolls, of which payment was refused by the defendant on the ground that since the coming into force of " The Post-office Act, 1881," coaches that carried mails were exempt from tolls. The Court found for the defendant, holding that all vehicles carrying mails were,exempt from toll. TE WHIH AT THE MAORI KAIK. Duhedih, June 12. Te Whiti and Tohu visited the kaik on Saturday, and were received cordially by the natives. Subsequently Charles Wesley, the well-known chief, took them severely to task for their past conduct. Te Whiti made no reply, but Tohu said he and Te Whiti were dead to all intents and purposes, and nothing said to them now could be of any avail. They did not seem discontented with the result of the visit. ANOTHER CASE OF BURGLARY. Invercaroill, June 12. Watson's Hotel was broken into last night, and a desk containing £80 taken.
