CANDAHAR IN A STATE OF SIEGE.

MUTINY EXAGGERATED.

Calcutta, August 27. — According to the latest news from Candaliar Ayoub Khan has withdrawn his force to a position eight miles westward of the citadel and thus virtually raising the siege. It is believed this is due to General Boberts' advance towards Candaliar. It now transpires that news received to-day regarding the mutiny among the troops of the Khan of Khelatisga is greatly exaggerated. Londox, August 27. — It is announced that no information has reached the Government regarding the report published by the Standard of the defections from Abdul Rahman's troops to the ranks of Ayoub Khan.
