These scholarships aro six (6) in number, of the estimated value bf sixty-ftvo pounds (£65) per annum. Two (2) are tenablo ,for three (3) years, two (2) for two (2), years^and two (2) for ono (1) year, are open,, to candidates from all parts of Now , Zealand,- and entitle the holders to board, lodging, and iuetruotion at tho School of Agrioulture, Lin« con, near Christohuroh. Mathematics— Arithmetic, Algebra to simple equations (iuolusive), Euplid, ' , first four books and sixth ; Plaue Trigonometry to solution of triangles (inclusive), aud logarithms. Science— Elements of Inorganio Chemistry, Elementary Experimental Phjsios, Elementary Physical Geography, Elenieutary Natural History. OPTIONAL SUBJECTS. Any two of these^ay be selected by the Candidates. Latin— Translations of easy passages at Bight, questions on Grammar, Paper on Horaco, Odes Book IV. Greek— As in Latin, Euripides Aloestis. French— As in Latiu, Raoine's Andromaquo. German— As in Latin, Schiller's Wilbqlm Tell. English History— From tho acoession of William 111. to tho Crimean War. Conditional on the papers being satisfactory to tho Examiners, tho three years' Scholarships will bo awarded to tho two candidates who staud first and second on the result list, those standing third aud fourth Bopuriug the two years' Scholarships, tho ono year Scholarhhips falling to tho candidates occupying tho fifth and sixth places.
