HAWERA.
[from our own correspondent.] June 5, 1.30 p.m.— The natives at Opunake are ploughing up Mr. William Bayly's land atTeNamu. Opunake, and I believe they intend to plough up the Government paddocks at the same place, also Bartlett's and Breach's lands.
Major Noake is expected here to-day to look after the defence of the place aud raise volunteer corps. All is quiet here.
