CLASSIFICATION OF TEACHERS.

The scheme is rather involved, find a-i far as can be gathered at present is not likely to give much satisfaction to the persons most interested. There are five classes denominated fro-n A to-C, oach of which i* subdivided into five sections, so that there are really about twenty-five grades. ISxaminution is to determine t>e class a man shall take, and length of service, teaching- power, &l\, we believe, is to fix the particular section in which he shall be classified. To rank iv the A class a man must have taken University degrees with honors. B class is to he made up of those who have taken University degrees without honors, and so on. The practical result, it seems to us, will be to push down into the D and E classes nearly the whole of the members of the profession in the public schools.
