ENGLISH COMMERCIAL.
The New Zealaud Loan and Mercantile Agency have received the following telegram, dated London, 19th August : — Wool sales opened at average decline of Id. to l^d. on price at last sales. The principal decline has been on superior and medium washed. From New South Wales and Queeusland, up to date, 390,000 bales have arrived; IG.OOO bales have been sent to manufacturing districts direct. Trade in manufacturing districts unchanged. Tallow market firm. Leather, best side, showed decline on previous rates; others in proportion. Wheat market quiet ; quality of crop indifferent ; foreign arrivals heavy ; Adelaide worth 575. per 496 lbs., New Zealand 545.
