Sydney. A fire has occurred which has destroyed nine houses. The loss is estimated at £20,C00. Melbourne. There is a great falling off in the Customs, excise, and territorial duties for the year. Arrangements have been made by ti e Government with a literary man to write the history of Australia. Brisbane. The blacks cruelly murdered Conn, a settler, at a place forty miles from Cardwell, and carried his wife off to the bush.
