' Wednesday, April 22, 1874. — Before H. Eyre Kenny, Esq., R.M. Judghents for' Plaintiffs. — E. L. Humphries & Son v. D.T3ishop.~Claim, £16 10s. 2d. Mr. Halse for the plaintiffs, and Mr. Hammerton for the defendant. Judgment, which was reserved from the 15th April, was given for the plaintiffs, for £15 9s.' 2d., with oosts, £2.— F. U. Gledhill v. L. Sarton. — Claim, £13 15s. 9d. Judgment for plaintiff for £13 13s. 9d., and costs, £1 11s. Adjourned Case. — E. L. Humphries & Son v. J. M. Vivian. — Adjourned to the 29th April. Absent from Para de.— William Edgecombe was fined £1, and costs, 95., for being absent from the monthly inspection parade of the Light Horse Volunteers, held at New Plymouth on the 7th of February last, without the permission of the officer commanding the district. Habitual Drunkenness. — Kera, a native woman of weak intellect, was sentenced to three calendar months' imprisonment, without hard labour, for habitual drunkenness, □nder the provisions of the " Vagrant Aot, 1866 ;" there being three convictions reoorded against her within the last twelve months. The woman is a nnisanoe to the townspeople when she gets drunk ; and, as she appears to be somewhat neglected, her confinement for a limited period will be beneficial, nnder the circumstances, to herself as well as others.
