April 23. —Tbe licensing meeting at Auckland passed off without a Good Templars' straggle. That body op. J posed the Onehunga licenses, and succeeded against the opening of one new house. Much indignation and disappointment is expressed at Tanranga at the delay of the Government in not handing over the Bay of Plenty lands to tbe Superintendent, thus enabling favoured speculators to select. Mrs. Von der Hyde and Mrs. Graham were thrown out of their carriage in Kyber Pass on Monday afternoon.
