AUCKLAND— November 9.

Live Stock Market.— Mr. A, Buokland re- ; ports that at Remuera, on the 9th November, ■ dairy- cattle were dull of sale. Many fairly-bred ; young bulls were penned, and met with a ready Bale. Store cattle of all descriptions were in full ' supply, and ia fair inqniry at improved values. .Fat cattle were in average supply — 110 head sold. An advance of 2s. 6d. the 100 lbs. was obtained • over late markets. No store sheep were penned, ; and fat sheep were in less numbers than usual ; ;. an advance of jd. to £d. per lb. was sustained. • Lamba were plentifnl, but in demand, and cxi treme prices ruled. Coarse-bred pigs were at low i values, but well- bred animals were fairly com- • peted for. The prioes obtained were aa follow : ■ —Cows and heifers at calving, £3 15s. to £7; ' three-year-old steers, £5 7s. 66. to £6 ; a pen of : four-yea^olds, £6 12s. 6d. ; two-year-old steers, £4. 55. to -£4 108. ; eighteen-months-old, £3 to £3 75.6 d.; yearlings. £2 2s. to £2 155. ; weaned r calves, XI 17s. to £2 Is. ; dry cows, £3 to i£47s. 6d. ; fat calves, 19s. to £1 10s. ; well-bred "bulls from ten tofifieen-nionths-old, brought, from £6 10s. to £10 10s. each ; inferior, from £2 10s. ; fat cattle, £1.65. to £1 Bs. the 100 lbs. ; sheep, about 3d. the lb. ; best lambs, 17s. 6d: to £1 2s. each.; pigs, UJd. to 2Jd. the lb. — At the Haymarket, on the >Bth November, very little fodder ■was brought -forward ; better prices ruled. ■Meadow hay,-£4-15s. the ton ; small loads of hay, -275. ; wheaten straw, 245. to 295. each ; maize, 3s. 6d. and 3s.#d.; oats,- 2s. 9d. ; beans, 3s. 3d. •the bushel. .There was a smaller than usoal -muster of horse stock, but a fair inquiry, principally for draught of medium strength ; those brought from £16 to £21 each j small-sized -riding horses, from £5 to £8 10». ; and a powerful unbroken draught gelding, £40. Messrs. -Hunter- and Nolan ■ report : — There was a large number of horses brought forward, but an indis--positien was manifested to purchase broken-down and inferior animals ; consequently sales of these •descriptions were difficult to effect ; but at auction ■on the -Ist November, those of a good stamp were were well competed for. We quote : Haoks, from £4 17s. £d. to £H>; light-harness horses brought from £9 to •£ 15; medium draught, £25. There has again been a- very good muster of cattle, and active, demand for 'most descriptions. Dairy cowb show a little improvement in demand, and a slight advance in price. ' There is no noteworthy attention in store stook, but a continuous demand exists at late quotations. Fat beasts are in tolerable -supply an€ -adeqnate demand,- but prices steady market unless shipments «houldunexped- ' tedly tome to hand. We quote : Dairy cows, from £5 to £9 7s. 6d. ; two-year-old steers, £4 to £4 128. 6d. ; three-year-olds, from £5 to £7 6s. j yearling steers, £1 15s. to £2 2s. 6d. Sheep have been in moderate supply and active demand, and priceshave bad an upward tendency rather than otherwise. Good lambs continue eoarce, and realise-high prices; best quality, 16s. to 205. ; second, 13s. to 14s. 6d. ; sheep, from 14s. to 20b. 6d. each. Pigs were yarded in increased numbers, but generally of inferior description. Good pigs were in demand, but rough brutes were in disfavour. Produce.— Mr. It. Arthur reports the following prioes realised at bis -sales on the Bth instant : Fowls, Is. 9d. to 4s. 3d. eaoh ; ducks, 2s. 3d. to 2s/6d.j turkeys, ss. to ss. 9d. ; geese, 55. ; old potatoes, 2b. 6d. per cwt. ; new potatoes, Id. per lb. ; flour, £15 to £16 per ton ; apples, 2d. to 3d. per lb. ; inferior.bacon, 3d. to sd. j maizß, 4s. per bushel ; cheese, s£d. per lb { ; butter, 6id.
