NOMINATION DAY.
On the 7th March, at noon, the electors of the district of Grey and Bell assembled in the Court House, for the purpose of nominating candidates for the vacant seat in the Provincial Council. 11. Eyre Kenuy, Esq., the Retnrning Officer, having read the writ authorising him to return a member, called upon the electors to propose their candidates.
Mr. C. Brown proposed and Mr. W. D. Webster seconded, " Mr. Peter Elliot as a fit and proper person to represent the district in the Provincial Council."
Mr. Yates proposed and Mr. J. W. Marshall seconded, "Mr. David Callaghan as a suitable person to represent the district in tho Provincial Council."
Mr. Peter Elliot and Mr. David Callaghan then addressed the electors .
The Relnrning Officer called for a show of hands, which was declared to be in favour of Mr. David Callaghan.
Mr. Upjohn and Mr. Brown demanded a poll on behalf of Mr. Peier Elliot.
A vote of thanks to the Returning Officer, terminated the proceedings.
