THE STONEY RIVER BRIDGE.
We are glad to learn that the contractor will at once receive instructions to commence building the bridge over the Stoney River, and that the Ngamahanga tribe, under the chiefs Iharaira, Pirinihi, Paora, and others, have consented to make the road throngh their district, south of Stoney River, so far as Waineranni, a distance of about five miles. Before, however, this latter road making is commenced, we believe it is the intention of the Government to finish the work begun between Waingongoro and Umuroa.
