Company's steamship • Rangatira' arrived at Glcnalg at 5 p.m. from King George's Sound, with the Australian mails. Tho upward passage occupied 150 hours, and tho downward pass-acre 93 hours. A hurricane, of throo days' duration, was experienced on the upward passage. The ship ' Northumberland,' laden with 1,200 tons of coal, foundered on tho 20th ultimo, off Bald nead, King George's Sound. All the crow were saved. The steamship * Bombay,' Captain Hector, R.N.R., arrived at the Sound at 3 p.m. on the Ist July. Captain Burne, of the ' Bombay,' has gone home on leave of absence. The ' Bombay' left Gallo at 1 p.m. ou the 17th June, and experienced light south-easterly winds, variable weather, and calms, with moderate south-east trades. Tho steamer ' Surat' met with an accident on her voyage to the Red Sea. She broke tho blade of her screw.Jwhich was driven through tho stern. Tho saloon was in consequence filled with water. The accident occured 400 miles from Point do Gallo, and she put back to that port. All tho passengers were kept at the pumps night and day.
