DUKE OF EDINBURGH'S DEPARTURE. OTARROL ORDERED FOR EXECUTION. His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh has bade farewell to the Colonies, and is now homeward bound with the utmost despatch, to relieve, as soon as possible, the Queen's anxiety as to tha state of her son's health. The 'Galatea' sailed from Sydney on the evening of the Gth Api'il, with a light north-east breeze, and was out of sight before nine o'clock. > The Prince wrote to the Executive, suggesting that O'Farrell's fate be referred to the Queen, but the Government have decided that he be left to. his fate, and he is ordered for execution on the 21st. Riddell relinquished the attempt to form a Ministry in Victoria. Sladen was sent for, but declined the responsibility, unless the dissolution would be granted him by the Governor when required. Parliament is to assemble on the 15th. Rameden's Paper Mills will open very shortly, and the Geelong Cloth Manufactory is in operation, producing I,ooo'yards weekly. The Alfred Memorial Fund amounts to £11,000. At the great lottery of Fisher's Maribyrnong Stud, Sayno and Company drew Fishook, and J. G. Smith, Dunedin, drew the colt Julius. Flour has an upward tendency, and £21 15s. is now askpd. Diggers are returning in large numbers from Queensland ; the reported rushes are considered as swindles. Government offers a reward of £250 for convictions under the lVeason-Felony Act. Bushrangers robbed the Mudgee Mail escort, and stuck up three men at Gympio Creek.
