FARM OPERATIONS.
April is an important month to the farmer. Oats may be sown for green crop, also tares. Take up potatoes with other tubers and store them. Cocksfoot grass seed if planted early in this month, will yield a partial crop in the ensuing summer. Drains should now be attended to, the light soils of Taranaki require careful drainage as through the soil — when saturated with water — it is impossible for any air to penetrate.
