CORONER'S INQUEST.

An inquest \v;.s hold by tho Cproner, J. I'light, Esq., on Wednesday last, at the Court llouso, upou the body of a boy aged 9 years, named Robert Kobortson, who was drowned whiio bathing in tho sea on Tuesday last. The evidence given by tho father, James Kobertson, was to the effect "that about '230 p.m. deceased's younger brother cams to him with his brother's clothes, and said his brother was drowned. H« immediately ran down to the beach with him and found tho body of his eldest son washing about in the sutf. There were no signs of life when ho picked him up. Evidence could not bo elicited from deceased's brother, a child of 7 years of age, who burst into tears when questioned, and would not speuk. He bad told is father, however, that his brother having remained in the water a long time he thought ho waa drowned, and picked np his clothes to take to his mother.

Dr. Will, Staff Asst.-Surgeou, gave evidence that ho saw the body soon after it had been brought up from the beach. Life was evidently extinct. He tried artificial respiration, and put the into a warm bath. It gave no signs of life.

A Verdict of " Accidental Drowning" was retux'ned by the jury.
