RAGLAN.
By the latest intelligence from Ngaruawahia we are informed that it was currently reported there that Mr Tood's survey party, who were employed in laying out the road from Raglan to Waipa, had been driven by rebel natives from the Pirongia ranges and had to make their escapa. One of them it was said, had arrived at Ngaruawahia bleeding and footsore. The Pirongia ranges are where the gold has been found, and if there is truth in the report tho knowledge of this by the natives has perhaps influenced them in driving away the surveyors.
