This Society shall he called " The New Plymouth Licensed Victuallers' Association." 2. Its object shall he the mutual protection of its members, in trading as Licensed Victuallers, from laws which may hear unfairly upon them, and any other circumstance which may be hurtful to their interests. 3. Persons desirous of joining this Association must be proposed and seconded, either at a meeting of Members or a Committee meeting, and shall be ballotted for at the next meeting of Members. 4. The entrance fee shall be £3, the yearly subscription shall be £2, payable half yearly in advance. 5. The business of the Association shall be conducted by a Committee consisting of five members, four of whom to form a quorum ; the Secretary also being an ex offiao member. 6. The "Committee shall be elected by a show of hands, or by ballot if demanded, and in all cases of equality of votes the chairman for the time being shall have the casting vote. 7. At the yearly General Meeting in the month of June, the Committee shall retire from office, but shall be eligible for re-elec-tion. 8. The Members shall meet at least once a month, in such place, and at such times as they may think fit, for the transaction of the general business of the Association. 9. The Secretary shall attend every meeting of the Association at the time named for the commencement of such meetings; he shall enter minutes of all resolutions, and the business of the Association in a Minute Book ; he shall conduct the correspondence of the Association, and keep the accounts in proper books to be provided for that purpose. 10. Two Auditors shall be appointed from year to year by the Members at the General Meeting in the month of June to pass the accounts. 11. The yearly accounts shall be closed on the 29th day of June in every year. 12. All monies received shall be paid in to the Bank of New Zealand to the credit of the Trustees of the Association, who shall be J. L. Newman, H. Endres, and T. Dare, and all payments must be made by cheque, which shall be signed by at least two of the trustee? 13. All town members who are not present at each meeting within half*an-hour from the time for which it was called shall be fined 2s. 6d., unless they previously send a. written apolocgr to the Secretary. 14 The Secretary shall at any time rail a Special Meeting on receiving a request in writing to that effect signed by three members. 15.
