The "New Zealand Examiner :" A MONTHLY JOURNAL EXCLUSIVELY DEVOTED TO THE INTERESTS OF THE NEW ZEALAND SETTLEMENTS. Price, 5d. ; Post free, 6d. Published for the Proprietors by George Street, 30, Cornhill, E.C., and Partridge & Co., Paternoster Row. T)ROSPECTUS.— New Zealand has pcX culiar claims on the attention of the British Public. Its resources are inexhaustible, and they have already been rendered incalculably valuable to the Commercial and Social prosperity of the Nation by British pluck, skill, and handicraft. With a European or White Population of about Seventy Thousand, and a Native Population of almost an equal number ; with a Live Stock of all kinds in the seven Provinces of Two Million head, an Annual Export of Wool of more than 12,000 bales, Customs' Receipts exceeding £125,000, and the total resources of Revenue estimated at £250,000 sterling annually — New Zealand has claims which the best conducted of the existing Colonial Newspapers cannot possibly advocate in the few columns of space to which that advocacy is necessarily confined. Within the last few years the Inhabitants, Manufactures, and Trades have more than doubled ; and from the wonderfully productive character of the Soil, its rich Minerals, its raw Mateiial, its /Timber, its Gum, and its Fisheries, New Zealand will advance in the same progressive ratio for years to come. The Proprietors, therefore, of the New Zealand Examiner propose to establish a Journal which will be exclusively devoted to the manifold interests of New Zealand. Whatever affects that Colony in its internal arrangements or foreign relations will be intelligently, comprehensively, and impartially advocated in the columns of the New Zealand Examiner. The. Proprietors and Editors, from a personal with New Zealand, have means of procuiing original and authentic information to which no existing Journal can lay claim. Correspondents have been appointed in all the principal Provinces, from whom important news respecting the New Zealand Settlements will be published in this Journal. The state of the Markets, the Exports and Imports, the Land Regulations of the different Provinces, the prospects of Emigration, the Registry of Births, Marriages, and deaths — indeed, everything that in any way, directly or indirectly, affects New Zealand, will be published immediately on the arrival of the Monthly Mails in the columns of the New Zealand Examiner. The Proprietors have secured the ser vices of an efficient Editorial Stuff, and no pains or expense will be spared on their part to render the New Zealand Examiner indispensable alike to the Capitalist, the Merchant, the intending Emigrant, in short, to eveiy British man or v\oman who is bound by the secret but indissoluble ties of kinship to those now living in New Zealand. The Debates in Parliament, so far as they affect New Zealand, will be sedulously watched, and discussed w ithout sectarianism ; all Woiks published in this country or in New Zealand lelating to the Colony will be impartially review ed ; interesting Biographies of eminent Settlers will be given; in brief, eveiything, politically, commercially, or socially considered, will be so treated as to offend none, intere&t all, and render the New Zealand Examiner an authoritative Organ to every person in any way interested in the " Land of Promise."
