Auckland, 8 p.m. Thebe is only a reduction in the number of hands, consequent on a change in the works, and not a strike at Fort Britomart. Mr James Cruickshankhas been elected a member of the Harbour Board. The Golden Crown was sold to-day for £8,350. Mr William Baker, the Secretary of the Thames Steam Packet Company, was the purchaser. A meeting of the Von Tempsky Goldmining Company was held to-day, and the rules were passed. Messrs Nagle, Burt, Mowan, Phillips, Sholl, Leers, and West were elected Directors, and Mr Davies legal manager. The Wonga Wonga sailed to-day without any Californian mails for Australia.
