Monday next, the 32nd anniversary of the Colony of New Zealand, will be observed as a general holiday. The Post-office and other Government offices will be closed on that day. The members of the Juvenile Baud of Hope will assist on the occasion.

The anniversary sermons of the Wesleyan Suuday-school Union will be preached in the Grahnmstown Church to-morrow, by the Rev. J. Hill, at 11 a.m. and half-past C o’clock p.m. The annual gathering of the schools will be held at a quarter to 3 o'clock, when an address will be delivered by the Rev W. J. Williams, and hymns sung by the children. Collections will be made after each service on behalf of the funds of the Union.

There was a long list of cases for hearing at the R.M. Court yesterday, but several were struck out for non-appearance of the parties concerned, or settled out of Court. St. George’s Church— The opening services of the new building recently erected in Mary-strcct will be licit to-morrow. The Right Rev. the Bishop of Auckland is expected to he present on the occasion. There will be an early communion service, and the usual services at 11 a.m. and half-past (5 p.m. A number of young persons are to be confirmed in the evening. Collections in aid of (lie building fund will be made, andwc have no doubt will be liberally responded to. There will be a church parade of Volunteers in the morning. There was but a small attendance at tho Theatre Royal last evening. The performances were'under the patronage of the Volunteer officers, and the programme was an attractive one, comprising “ Still AVaters Run Deep,” and an amusing farce. The acting of Mr Tavares as John Mildmay, and of Mr Perrier as Captain Hawkesly, was exceedingly good ; and Mrs Hill and Miss Sur-. tees played the part of the ladies iu very good taste. They were well supported by the whole strength of the company, and the audience, although small, was evidently well pleased with the evening’s entertainment.
