C'ONTKIKLTiOX.S TO OI K PACE TOFF Eli! APPLES j Ingredients:— j One pound of .small eating apples. I A sharpened slick of wood iov each. One pound of treacle. One pound of Oemerara sugar. Four ounces of butler. Melt tile butter, add the treacle and sugar and stir gently till it boils. Boil for about lift ecu minutes and then try your toffee by dropping a little into a cup of cold water. If it hardens it is ready. Let it cool a little in the saucepan. Wipe the apples clean. remove stalks, and stick sc piece of wood in each. Dip in the slightly thickened toffee and stand upright in a jar to set. (Sent in by Cousin Snowdrop).
