High Street Crossing Blocked With regard to the “local” published in this paper recently complaining about the evening goods train blocking the High Street crossing, at Temuka, it has since been ascertained that the case mentioned was an isolated one, and was unavoidable, owing to the fact that certain unusual shunting operations were taking place at the time. The Temuka Mission will hold usual services to-morrow, at 11 a.m. and 0.-4 5 p.m. Sunday School will he Held at 2.3 0 p.m. The services are purely undenominational, and all are heartily welcome. The subject at the evening service will be, “Abide in Christ for Safe Keeping to the End.” Prowling Nuisances Certain residents of Geraldine have been complaining of the action of some unknown “night prowlers.” One lady, who lives by herself, was frightened out of her wits the other night by a scraping sound on the •side of the house. Another lady, who sleeps outside on a balcony, was decidedly upset when a large slone landed near her ii\ the early hours of a recent morning. There is a substantial penalty attached to such, acts, and the perpetrators are advised to desist and save themselves further trouble.
