"Uur annual Show again proved 10 l;c a great success, and while the number oi' entries was not quite up to t)ie previous year, the standard of excellence was exceedingly high, and several of the judges referred in very complimentary tonus to the splendid quality and condition of tlie exhibits in tlieir respective .sections. "As the Acting-Pi'inie ASiiiistcr (the lion. George Forbes) was lo foe in oar ieirilory on tiie day of our annual function, it was docid"d that advantage lie taken of the opportunity !o invite him to attend oar Show. The in vita, 'on was accepiod, and after being officially wrlronied and entertained, Air Forbes was an interested spectator throughout ihe afternoon, and expressed his approcial ion of tlie standard and conduct of Ihe Show gene-rally. '"A perusal of our balance-sheet indicates that vlic receipts were about the same as last year, thoui.ii Sale receipts and entry fees show slight increases. "During the year additional light horse lines were provided; also several new cattle and sheep pens. A force-pump was installed adjacent to Ihe cattle pens, and this proved a great convenience, and was much appreciated. In all, a sum of £-10 las 2d was expended in permanent' improvements out of revenue, and also a further sum of £SO was lodged in the l'ost Office Savings Bank account. "The principal items <jf receipts in this year's balance-sheet are as follows:—(late receipts £175 Bs, entry fees £l!2 10s 0(1, members' subscriptions £IIS 10s, donations and special prizes £10(i >Ss fid, rents £s,'! 7s 2d, privileges £27, ground spa.ee £2:J 15s, side-shows £K> 10s, catalogues £ls ils lid, advertising £ll, interest £2O His Sd. Our expenditure includes the following items:—Prize money £MQ;i Kis (id, printing and advertising £UH Os 2d, labour on grounds £2:-!, rent £.'lo, cups and engraving £22 2s, luncheon and refreshment' £2S 10s (id. The Association's cash balances amount to £lßl lis Id, and the total amount of assets in excess of liabilities now stands at £97-1 lis Id, as against £9OO -Is !td last year. This must be considered highly satisfactory and very gratifying to members. "During the year the leases oi both the old and present showgrounds expired, and fresh leases we're arranged for verms of five years from Ist April, l'K'.O, at HO 10s per annum for 10 acres freehold, and £:;o 5s per annum for 2 0 acres Grazing only. "it. is with deep regret, that we record the recent death of Air AI. 11. AlcLeod, a past president and for many years a member of our committee, and also a class steward. The late Air AlcLeod was always a staunch supporter of our .Association. We lender our .sincere sympathy to Airs AlcLeod and relatives in tlieir sad loss. "Removal from our district was responsible for (he loss to Ihe Association of an ex-president, in the person of Air I). 11. i'aterson, who for many years was a member of our executive and at all times manifested a keen interest in our Association's welfare. "In conclusion, we desire to express our cordial thanks to al! contributors vo our prize fund, to all judges and class stewards for voluntary services, to (lie Press for full reports of our activities, and to all those who in any way assisted in the promotion of our Show or in the welfare of our Association during the year."
