An accident happened just outside the north boundary of the Tenia k a borough on Sunday morning:. A motor cycle, ridden by Mr G. Broad, of Timaru, with a side-car in which Mr , E. Toomey, of Geraldine, was a pasisenger, collided with a motor milk delivery can owned by Mr A. C. Parrish, of Hilton. It appears that Mr Broad was proceeding south on the main south road, and Mr Parrish’s van w,as crossing from, a street at .riglM angles to 'him, when the collision occurred on the crown of the road. A wheel of the milk van was broken and the cans of milk sent in all directions. Both vehicles were damaged, but fortunately no one was hurt badly. Mr Parrifih was put to a lot of trouble, as- he had to let hie customers know what had happened, and it was evening before hfe could supply them, with mllh.

A very varied programme has been provided, and the Municipal Band will make the day bright with music. Given a fine day this will make a perfect holiday. Attention is directed to the sale of furniture and effects to he held at Geraldine on Thursday next, by Mr. James Steven, on acc'ount of Mrs Woodhouse. The sale will be held at Mr Steven’s auction rooms, and at the same time and place he will hold a sale of Christmas poultry. The annual Sports gathering of the Temuka Caledonian Society on Tuesday, 27th December, promises to be as successful and popular as ever. All tastes in the way of sport arc being catered for, for the programme embraces Highland, dancing, cycling, running, jumping and wood chopping events, and feats of skill, strength and endurance. The. Pipe Band will be in attendance, so the public can depend on hearing some enlivening music. Splendid entries... for. the handicap events have been received, and if the weather proves favourable there will no doubt be a large and enthusiastic gathering. A. Cinderella dance will be held in the. evening. In our report of,the funeral of the late' Mr Charles Manson. the names .of relatives and friends who had expressed their sympathy by sending wreaths and other beautiful floral'tokens of sympathy, were given, and through an oversight the following names were omitted:— Miss Greaves, Mr and Mrs M.
