TEMUKA DISTRICT NEWS. Rain yesterday afternoon stopped threshing operations throughout the district. There is plenty of wheat in store and merchants orders appear to be filled' so it will not matter if the crops have to be stacked, Wheat, has if anything eased a little since our last report, and sales are reported at 5/6 immediate delivery,, and there is every likelihood of the prices settlingdown to within a penny or two of this./ Oats are firmer, sales of good 'Duns at. 2/8, and Cartons at 2/6 taking place daily. ‘Chaff is firm, April delivery commanding £3 2s 6d per ton on trucks sacks found. Good' bright samples of perrential are worth about 2/9 Western wolths 1/6 to 1/9 with little demand. Clover samples are not coming in freely, but it is thought that red clover, and cowgrass will be worth about Sd. Cocksfoot, is being bought at 6d best samples up to 6£d. Potatoes are selling freely at £3 on trucks, sacks in. The market is not firm and merchants are ’ buying as they sell. Partridge peas are firm at late rates, ■Nominal prices' on trucks sacks extra unless .stated are as follows: Wheat — Tuscan 5/6 per bushel, Hunters 5/7, Velvet 5/10. Oats. —A grade Algerions 2/3 per bushel, A grade Cartons 2/6, A grade Duns 2/8; B grade 3di per bushel less. Chaff. —£3 2s 6d per ton. Ryegrass —.Perrenial 2/!) per bushel. Western Wolths 1/6.
