• Kere- Tito, one of the best known residents on the river, died last week (states the Dargaville correspondent of the Auckland Star), at the residence of her son, Joe Tito, of Tangiteroria. The deceased, whose father, a boat-builder, Robert M’Kenzie, landed at Russell nearly 120 years ago, was born on, March 21, 1821, at Wainiate, where the family still owns land purchased by the father. 'She was, therefore, 105 years old. She had lived at ’langiteroria for over 50 years and was quite active and retained all her faculties: tQ, the last. Her husband 'predeceased , her some years ago. There are' f 13S living descendants. Her eldest son is 75 years of age.
