AMUSEMENTS.

TEMUKA PICTURES. Thrilling, colorful,, and intense, “The Flaming Frontier” lakes its place' among the great film epics of the rugged Par West. ‘‘The Flaming Frontier” is Universal’s portrayal of Custer’s last stand, and will be seen at Temuka to-night and to-morrow night. It is a powerful pieturisation of the forces affecting the far Western frontier in the days when the white man was wresting the Dakotas from the tribes of the North. In it is the romance of the Pony Express, the , connivery of the Indian agents, the hardships of the pioneers, the tragedy of the Redskins driven farther and farther West, the fearlessness of the frontier soldiery, horrors of the Indian massacre, and the dauntless heroism that fed the early inhabitants of the American plains to make their homes in a fierce, fighting and untamed region. Hoot Gibson/ the hero of many a Western story, has the role of the West .Point cadet, pony expressman and fearless scout for General Custer. The rugged old Indian fighter is played by Dustin Farnum, and others who figure prominently are Anne Cornwall, Kathleen Kay, and George ,Fawcett. The supporting pictures include another episode of ‘‘The Telephone Girl.”
