RECIPES. BROWN BREAD. 2 breakfast cups whealineal. 1 breakfast cup bran, 3 teaspoons of baking powder, 1 scant teaspoon salt. Mix thoroughly. iMelt 1 Hat dessertspoon treacle, golden syrup or malt extract in a little hot water. Mix with milk and add to dry ingredients . When the consistency of scone dough, place in buttered tins, preferably with lids on. Bake about lj| hours in good oven. This mixture makes two loaves in Bell tea tins. CREAM KISSES. 1 egg, 2 flat tablespoons sugar, 2 good tablespoons floury 1 teaspoon baking powder. Beat egg and sugar until the sugar is dissolved. Add sifted flour quickly, then baking powder.. Drop on hot tray and bake 3 minutes in a quick oven. The amount of flour depends on the size of the eggs. Small eggs require less. This mixture makes one trayful. When cooked, fill with whipped cream. Children who are "delicate, who taka colds easily, who cause their mothers many an anxious moment—these are just the youngsters who improve so rapidly on small, regular doses of Lane's Emulsion. The secret is that nature wants one or two elements (vitamines) which are not present in sufficient quantities in daily food.
