The chairman called upon Mr A. M. Fyfe to give them all inform ition available, and his remarks, which placed the situation clearly before the audience, were further emphasised by Messrs Hughes aid Flatman.

Questions were asked and weresatisfactorily answered, one gentleman being supplied with quite a list of questions. Mr Markham, chairman oi! the Orari Gorge School Committee, after the position had been put clearly before the meeting, informed them that his committee had already passed a resolution favouring tha proposal. A similar favourable resolution was passed by the Woodbury residents.

The speakers were accorded a vote of thanks for coming out and showing the possibilities of the scheme so clearly, and a vote of-thanks to the chairman terminated a very enthusiastic meeting. At the conclusion of the meeting the visitors were hospitably entertained to supper by Mr and Mrs Marks.

In accordance with the wishes of the Canterbury Education Board, the chairman of the Geraldine School Committee, accompanied by Mr T. Hughes, chairman of the Board, and members of the Committee, have in the past few days attended meetings in connection with five different schools, all of which have, expressed themselves as favourable* to the establishment of a Junior High School at Geraldine.
