WOMEN’S CORNER.

Mr and Mrs J. B. Sinclair motored to Dunedin last Thursday. ■Miss G. Tennent is returning to Christchurch on Monday. Mrs J. P, Peter (Geraldine) left for Dunedin on Wednesday. Mrs Fleming (North Island) is the guest of Mrs J. Guild, “Trevenna.” Mrs James Guild (Christchurch) is the guest of her sister; Mrs M. Guild.' The Rev. R. Richards and ’family arrived home from their southern trip, last evening. Mi's Hayhurst and Miss Brown were hostesses at tlie tenuis and croquet lawns on Wednesday afternoon.

Mr and Mrs A. R. Guild and family motored back from Dunedin on Tuesday. Miss Aspinall accompanied them. Mrs T. Buxton (Christchurch) is at present on a visit to Temuka, and is the gu fi st of Mr and Miss Brown, “Dinting House.”

Mrs Tennent (Christchurch) left" on Thursday for Oamaru, where she will spend a few days before returning north early next week. Miss Zeta Miles (Christchurch*) returned home on Tuesday. Miss Miles was the guest of Miss Brown, “Dinting House,” during her slay In Temuka.

The engagement is announced of Isabel, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs P. Curtin, of Mataura; to William, eldest son of Mr and Mrs D. O’Keefe, ofi Orakipaoa, Tenkika. ■ Sister Kate, Principal of Te Waipounamu Maori Girls’ College, Christchurch, -arrived in Temuka yesterday, and is the guest of Miss Wanihi Mihaka.

Mr and Mrs T. Wallace (Christchurch) motored through from Christchurch on Thursday. During their stay in Temuka, they will be the guests of Mrs D. Taylor (Bayhurst street).

A pleasant function took place, in the form of u surprise party and presentation to the Rev. and Mrs McCully, at their residence at Hinds on Thursday afternoon. The ladies of the congregation of the Presbyterian Church presented Mrs McCully with a handsome leather hand bag, in token of the love and esteem Which the Rev. and Mrs McCully have inspired in the'heart's of the people. Much regret will be' felt at their loss from the district.
