FAMOUS DIGGERS.

NEW REAL GIRL SHOW

DRILL HALL, GERALDINE, SATURDAY NEXT. The accession of ten winsome girls is....undoubtedly a step on to terra firma. This has been proved,by the record attendances which this reoiganised erstwhile war-born combination has been receiving in other, parts of New Zealand during their present tour. The management have again shown correct judgment in securing from Australia and even further afield a coterie of new singers and dancers, besides retaining some of the old favourites. Of the newcomers, the most notable are Mademoiselle Claire Gooley, a French soprano, Miss Eily Dalgleisb, a charming soubrette, Air Claude 8011, one of Australia’s greatest baritones, and last bat not the last, Jimmy Norton, known throughout America as ‘‘That London Boy,” a comedian and dancer of superlative talent. Mademoiselle Claire Gooley was imported from England a year ago to sing and play leading parts for Harry Musgrove’s Tivoli Enterprises in Australia. She came for three months' and stayed twelve. The Diggers secured her at- the end of, .her Australian engagement and New Zealanders will thus have an opportunity of hearing an operatic soprano of peerless merit. Claude Bell, the ■ baritone, confesses to having been born in Sydney. He, however, deckled to travel and eventually found himself in London whore he had the honour of singing at some of the Albert Hall concerts. Not long mgo he returned in his native land, and v.as recently singing at the Tivoli and Haymarket Theatres, Sydney. Mias Eily Dalgloish is a merry sdu.htadto who is already known to playgoers in the Dominion us a member of the Sunshine Players Kcvtic Com- ' pany. She has a charming personality and is clever withal. Joc.Valli. the quaint Scottish comedian and' dancer, who made such a hit wit)j (lie audiences during last tour, is still with the company and has some delectable comedy for the new programme.

Stun Lawson is not dropping out complexly from the position of “Misleading Lady,” but lie will be scon in “lie —man” parts as well, and he proves more decisively what a really great artist he is. Gup Dawson and Tano Kamo are still with the company and the former is putting forward some clever dancing. “The Superb -Six’* all girl beauty ballet round ofl a line show, while the Diggers’ Orchestra, umlgr Mr Dave Lockwood, is as good as ever. KJnally, let it he said that never have the Diggers put forth such sumptuous scenery and radiantly beautiful costmning as they have on (his occasion.
