OBITUARY.

FREDERICK ROBERTS. 1

Word was received iu Temuka last evening of the death, at Dunedin, of Mr Frederick Roberts, a valued public officer in the Post and Telegraph Department, who eight years ago was in charge of the Tomuka Post Office. The late Mr* Roberts was an able and conscientious member of the service, carrying out his duties with steal, and doing all he could to make the service as useful as possible to the public. To his staff he was friend as well as chief. , He was always courteous and obliging. After leaving Temuka he had charge of several offices until ill-health assailed him, about two years ago. It whs hoped that an operation would bring relief, and restore his health, and he came south for the purpose. These hopes, however, proved ill founded, and he passed away as above stated. His death will be regretted by many friends in various parts of the Dominion, and. much sympathy will bo felt for his ; widow, and ’’son and daughter in the great loss they have sustained.
