CLANDEBOYE.
FOOTBALL. On Saturday afternoon a match was played at Mr J. Bisdee's paddock, Clandeboye, between Waihi Juniors and Clandeboye. The first spell was very even, the score at half time being three points to nil in favour of Waihi. In the second spell, however, the superior fitness of the Waihi team began to take'effect, the final result being a win for ; Waihi by 18 points to 6. Mr W. H. Cartwright was referee. After the game the players and their supporters were entertaind at afternoon tea by the lady supporters of the Clandeboye Club. Mir J. South, on behalf of Waihi, voiced their appreciation of a splendid afternoon's sport and of the generosity of the ladies in supplying afternoon tea. Mr W. H. Staniland suitably, replied. SCHOOL. The School Committee have received several offers of assistances to* follow up the work of the last working bee, and further improve the School playground. Consequently they •have decided to proceed at once with the ploughing and cultivating, aiftd ask all those who are willing to lend a hand to assemble at the School on Thursday morning.
