"In the Waikato Power District the farmers are clamouring for light and power, and the poles and wires cannot he erected fast enough to satisfy the demand," remarked ' Mr W. A. Waters, engineer to the Mana-watu-Oroua Power Board; in addressing a meeting of ratepayers at Whakaronga recently. He went on to point out that in some instances the Waikato farmers had actually erected the poles in the roads for the Power Board, so that supply could be obtained sooner and to enable the to scrap their oil engines before the milking season started.
