What is believed to be a world's n record yield of milk in proportion to the animal's body weight has been given by a goat belonging to Mrs Potton, of Rayleigh, Essex (states 8 the “English Veterinary Record’’), ii Weighing just under 1001 b and stand jing only 2 kin high, the goat was milked three times in one day, and gave a few ounces above 201 h, or two gallons of milk. This is over t one-fifth of her entire body weight, v and no cow has yielded in milk more a than one-seventh of her body weight ! in 24 hours.
