PRESENTATION.
. : TO MR SILAS PALMER. On Wednesday evening a pleasan little gathering took place in the Te <muka. Fire Brigade rooms, when- M Silas Palmer, who is leaving Temuk for Christchurch. was entertained b a number of friends and made i presentation of a case of pipes, as ; mark of the esteem and regard ii 'which he is held. Mr Jame Crombie presided, and after th usual toasts had been honoured called on Mr H. Wells to make th presentation. In doing so, Mr Well referred to Mr Palmer's long con nection with the district, and hi success as a-farmer and citizen, am on behalf of his friends he wishei him everv future success. Messr Geo. Phillips, A. E. Smith, H.,C0l ville, D. others als : spoke testifying; 'f 6 Mr Palmer,' abilities aiid■wishing' him success. ; In replying; Mr Palmer his"most sincere thanks for the beau tiful' gift -his friends liad presqnta him with, and also for the ma& kind ■things they had said.
