Mi. Wm. Smith, Temuka, single, clerk, has enlisted at the Temuka Defence U/lice.
Mr J. C. Adams, who was in charge of the C.E.M.S. marquee at the Orari Camp of the 2nd Infantry Regiment during the opening days of the camp, left for Ashburton on Monday afternoon to lakci up similar work at the camp of the Bth Mounted Rifles at that place. Mrs R r Richards, who has been on a visit to Christchurch, motored back to Four Peaks on Saturday. Mr John Hohvell is visiting Tcmuka.
The' many friends of Mr ami Mrs Reeves (late of Temuka) will regret to hear of the death of their daughter Isabel. ■
Mrs Kay has received a cable .saying that Private A. T. W. Kay was transferred to the Base Depot, France, on May 2ml. Mr Vernon Reed has been returnq(l unopposed for -the Bay of Islands electorate.
Corporal R. B. Bell, who was recently reported to he dangerously ill as a result of the wound in his neck, has telegraphed to his relatives that he has been traii.ußarr.cd from France to Brockcnhurst Hospital, England.
