The refreshment committee reported that the several caterers in the town had promised kindly support, andpoiucl discussion ensued, resulting in the carrying of a motion moved by Mr SpHlaue and seconded by Mr Campbell—- “ That all refreshments be free, but that a collection be taken up on the ground.” The entertainment committees reported that Mr H. McCully had donated half a, bullock for the Maori Koppa, and that Mr Goo. Cartwright had given a fat wether for a guessing competition. Mr Fred ‘Foley had kindly consented to give a picture show on the evening of the picnic, the committee to provide for incidental expenses. He was cordially thanked for his offer. Messrs Kahu and Rickus reported that the Natives had made preliminary arrangements for a good display ion the occasion, and would confer later as to details of programme. Mr Spillane mentioned that the Football Club would provide a masquerade match for the afternoon. Inter alia, it was agreed that the School Committee be asked to close the school at 12 o’clock or thereabouts, and that the Band be approached as to their services for the day. It ’was further agreed that a meeting of ladies interested be held on Wednesday next at 3.30 p.ra. Some minor details were discussed, and the meeting terminated with the customary vote to the chair.
