THE KING’S PRIZE,

LONDON, July 21. Lieutenant Addison, of South Aus- , tralia, won the King’s Prize, with a score of 31S, after Armourer Padgett of the East Yorkshire Regiment, who scored 319, had been disqualified, because he was given an extra shot for a bad cartridge which missed the target. Lieutenant Addison tied with Private Hope, of the second Middlesex regiment., but w-on in the shoot-off. (Tiiis is the third time that the King’s prize has been won by a colonial, but the first time that the great (trophy has crossed the equator. The (winner takes £250, and the National; Rillo Association's gold modal.) i In the contest lor the Challenge Cup, Lieutenant Addison, of Adelaide, scored 35, and tied with Sergeant-Major Yorke. Lieutenant Addison did not shoot off tho tic, and allow’od Sergeant-Major Yorke to take the prize. When the tie for the King’s Cup was declared Addison and Hope agreed to pool the prize money, each receiving £155.
