“LONDON LIFE.”
To-night, in tho Volunteer Hall, Td?" : muka, will be produced Hie sensa- \ tional play “London Life,” wliich is j entirely new to New Zealand play- 5 goers, for tho Taylor-Carrington man- j agement have only lately bought the j Australasian right of it. it is described as being a realistic and sensational drama, which deals very strongly with emotional elfoct, whilst at the same lime contaimng a large amount of comedy and character element. Tho scenery is a special feature in the production, notably the views of Blackfriars Bridge by night, a snowstorm in London, and a beautifully illuminated scone showing a foundling hospital. The situations of the piece are strong, particularly one where a mother is driven by poverty to leave her child at a London foundling hospital, and another where a perfectly sane woman is imprisoned in a madhouse. With Miss Carrington is u very strong emotional character, and Mr Charlie Taylor is an intensely funny one. Patrons of to-night’s performance may rest assured of getting good value for the admission rates, which, us is usual with the TaylorCarrington Comvany’ are very moder ate.
