LONDON, July 23. The Shipping Gazette, in publishing the names of the mail syndicate, says that the enterprise has fallen into such indubitably strong hands that the Suggestions which have boon made here that the syndicate would lie unable to perform its undertaking are peremptorily silenced. MELBOURNE, July 20. Mr Deakin, the Federal Premier, states that in the new mail contract there was associated to some extent with Sir James Lning, the firms of Vicars Maxim, Lord Armstrong, and Mr William Beardmorc, three of the best shipbuilding firms in England.
