Whnx the minutes of .last meeting were about to be confirmed, Mr Skinner, referring to the voting on the motion relative to the representation question, said he had understood that the .Bill should go forward together with t'hc old Bill for the inclusion of Waimate in the harbor district. The chairman said that curiously enough he had been under the same impression. Air Skinner said he was) certaiii ly in favor of the inclusion of Waimate in the harbor district. The chair man said the motion had been passed ■somewhat humodly at last meeting, ind apparently there had been a little misconception. The niinutes were then confirmed, the chairman slating that the Bill would come on for discussion later, when it could be decided whether a clause, should be added for the inclusion of Waimate in the harbor district.

The chairman reported that very satisfactory business had been dime at the port during the month. Dredging—Tin; dredge Tinuuu has lifted and discharged 1052 tons ; average per dredging hour. 20.13 tons. Dredge. Taniwha has lifted an'd discharged 700 lons ; average per ekedg. ing hour, 3.70 tons. Main Wharf Ke-pairs—Twcnit'y-three piles have been ■driven during tire month as fender piles, leaving eight in hand. New Wharf (North Hole)—A special report, plans, and estimate for tin'.* work, have, been prepared during the month. The engineer gave a lengthy report on examination made of the stability of the main wharf, its condition, etc. !n view of (he deepening of the harbor he recommended that a stiffening I 'or fender pill 1 be driven to at least | fOft below l.w.p. along th« face of the , wharf. Me found only one bad pile, and as it was about 25 years ago since wharf construction was commenced in Tinuiru, he was prepared to recommend the Board to continue the construction of limber jetties or wharves. DEBENTURES. Mr Titrnb'ill suitl there was a good deal of enquiry for the Board's, debentures ; thece was plenty of mon-y alxuif. and he suggested that ,-ihe Board should call tenders for fairly large lots of these, in which case he felt sure that a premium woidd be. paid. Thai would be better than selling at par as at present. It was decided that the Board should consider this suggestion later on, the ehairmaiv stating that the Board was not in need of inonev just at present. TUF CONSTITUTION OF THE BOAKDThe Waimate County Council forwarded a resolution passed on Wednes day, approving of the Board's proposal'to- amend 'the constitution of the Board. The, Timaru Borough Council forwarded the resolution passed by them on Monday: (I) Pointing out the, injustice of allowing Waimate Borough to renutfin out of the harbor district : (2) protesting against granting Waimate County an additional representative unless the borough is brought in.
