Mr [Joseph Muadl, ex-Mayor, presided, and* 1 tinriivy tin' afternoon the ladies prci siuted the new member with a gold ' sovereign ease, as a souvenir of the ' occasion. Mr Seddun made a happy speech in reply. Several musical items were given, and before the proceedings terminated, very hearty cheers were given for the member, Mrs Sedchm and lamily. Mr Seddon remains another fortnight or so on the Coast, and purposes visiting South Westland before reluming to Wellington. __________
